History:
Pitiful wiki, so Lying Cat was raised as a kitten by The Will, her mercenary owner, after being the unwanted runt of her litter, and became his companion for space bounty hunting and such. If The Will is to be believed, then she was picked up from a pet store because he was wary of shelter animals being damaged mentally, but as Lying Cat wasn't around during the conversation he says this, it's accuracy is unknown. At some point their mission goes awry and they end up adopting a child being used for prostitution, getting shot into space, chilling out on a harmful planet, then going on a quest for dragon sperm because it's a vital component of medicine for The Will. Her loyalty shifts towards protecting Sophie, aforementioned child, and when The Will returns as an angry, washed up version of himself, she decides not to join him on his quest for revenge. There's a lot of murder and calling people out on their bullshit in between. This is also a pitiful summation, but Saga be like that sometimes.
Personality: Like all lying cats, Lying Cat is a creature that is deeply attuned towards following rules and adhering to the truth. She has her own sense of justice that she can work within that may clash with society’s version of the law, but the compulsion to stick to the rules will always be there, and if she hears a lie she must call it out, even when it doesn't benefit her to do so. While all she can say is “LYING” she makes good use of the word, imposing her opinion when it fits within her speech pattern, such as when she tells Sophie that the girl's supposition that she’s dirty inside for the things she was made to do on Sextillion is a lie, not even letting her finish the sentence, when The Brand comments that her mother was a far better woman than she ever would be, and she flatters her with a “lying”, or when she rejects The Will’s statement that she wouldn't have had fun on Sextillion anyway after being told she wasn't allowed for being a pet.
She also makes up for her limitations by being very expressive, and through that it’s clear that she has a fierce loyalty and fondness for the people she surrounds herself with. Lying Cat enjoys lounging around, being doted on, and when it's necessary, pulling out a man’s throat and carrying around his detached head as a toy after he dared to threaten one of her people, because as intelligent and just as she is, she is also still...very much a cat.
